Wide Area Paramics Discovery Model developed to support planning applications in Warwickshire
Vectos Microsim are working alongside Warwickshire County Council to update the Warwick and Leamington Wide Area Model using Paramics Discovery version 22.
The model was originally developed in S-Paramics in 2011, and has recently undergone a conversion to Paramics Discovery and subsequent update using up-to-date traffic data. The new model covers both Warwick and Leamington Spa towns, along with the busy Europa Way corridor running between the two towns. The model also captures the M40 from Junction 13 to Junction 15, and A46 which runs to the west of Warwick.
The Paramics Discovery model is intended to be used to support planning application decisions within the study area, along with assisting Warwickshire County Council in major scheme business case funding applications.
The original S-Paramics model was used to support the determination of highway infrastructure necessary to support the local plan and, as those schemes are being delivered this new model will be updated to assess the impacts that the schemes have as well as supporting the continued assessment of the Local Plan and other major development proposals.
