Littleport and Waterbeach Modular Platforms
SYSTRA (formerly TSP Projects) has been involved intermittently in the development of a solution for the platform extensions at Littleport and Waterbeach stations over the past three years. Initially, the scheme also included substantial platform works at Beam Park Station but they were later removed from the scope for construction.
We worked with our client VolkerFitzpatrick and their nominated designers, Atkins, to actively design the modular platform solution since the beginning of 2019. Designs were completed and signed off by NWR allowing works to commence on site from Autumn 2019 with completion scheduled for February 2020.
The final scheme saw an extension to Littleport Platform 2 – 83 lin m in length, an extension to Waterbeach Platform 1 – 78 lin m in length and an extension to Waterbeach Platform 2 – 83 lin m in length. Our works package included the fabrication and installation of the 3-Bay variant modular platform together with the platform surfacing and waiting shelters.
We subsequently received a number of instructions to extend the scope of our works, with a revised completion date of May 2020.
