King’s Cross Station Redevelopment
King’s Cross Station Redevelopment
Network Rail have undertaken a £550 million redevelopment of King’s Cross Station, used by 47 million passengers a year, to double its capacity. As lead designer on this project, we delivered a full design solution from concept through to detailed design and supported constriction works on site for all works in the main train shed. This included the refurbishment of the grade 1 listed main train shed roof and providing a new glazing system complete with solar panels. Design of a new glazed footbridge with lifts and escalators, refurbishment and resurfacing of all platforms, creation of larger southern concourse and the design of a new platform in the old taxi rank under the Eastern Range Building with associated sidings.
