Cambrian Lines Resignalling

THE CHALLENGE

Facing the challenge of managing a large-scale resignalling project, SYSTRA was appointed by Network Rail to create an ERTMS 2 pilot line by Network Rail (NR) in the context of the development of that product in the UK. This complex project was divided into three stages that SYSTRA provided technical services on:

Stage 1: Review of the preliminary studies and precise costing of stages 2 and 3 (6 months)

Stages 2 and 3: Design, installation and T&C of the ERTMS level 2 on the Cambrian Line (18 months)

SYSTRA’S ROLE

SYSTRA was in charge of multiple elements of the project stages, including:

• SCC Integration
• ERTMS On Site and On-Board integration
• Track Side integration
• Telecommunication network and GSM-R Support
